Darby O' Gill and the Celtic Suite - Part 3

So, we were talking about things we are afraid of the other day and silly me forgot to include the scariest thing from my childhood. Walt Disney's (yes, I said Disney) Darby O' Gill and the Little People. The banshee part of this movie scared me stupid. I've seen the movie twice as a child. Once at 7, then again at 11 in hopes of overcoming my fear. Bad idea. Resulted in one of the worst migraines I have ever experienced.

Wow, great video. We forget that these tales are not of benevolent, cute little creatures. In all actually in Ireland they are terrified of fairies, leprechauns, brownies, etc...they reak havoc on your life.
My maiden name is O'Donnell, and it is said that anyone born under this name is visited by a white haired woman banshee three days before their death, and there isn't a darn thing you can do about it...scary stuff...:)

Ahh! I hate that! My mom's maiden name, and my true last name, is Callaghan. We're Irish too and I've always taken a liking to Irish things, but not the idea of banshees. They freak me out. Maureen, I hope the banshee that visits you is a nice, not so creepy one. :)

Oh, that movie freaked me out too!!
Definitely the banshee but also the death-carriage that comes for the dying people. Lots of nightmares over that one!
