Jill is a bad influence.....

Ha ha! Just kidding, Jill. You're a fantastic influence. :)

Jill made her own rhubarb liqueur and it was absolutely KILLER and then she told me how she made it and I'm the kind of girl that goes for easy projects so I'm thinking 'I can do this... I can do this with mulberries!'.... so today I take my pickup (as a ladder) and a big plastic tub and I pick mulberries for over an hour. Just the perfect amount for two jars of mulberry liqueur. Well, I get the jars full, and I pour the CHEAP vodka in there and the thought occurs to me that I could use my freebie (Thanks Allison!) blender and set it to pulverize and that might help the process along... so I do, and I come up with this stuff. Mulberry Vodka Puree. The sun can't even get through it, it's so dark... as are my hands.. a nice purply color. :)

If my calculations are correct, this lovely concoction will be ready for consumption for the August hot pot... and I read somewhere that it is really good with fizzy water. ;)

Kasey, Brian and I were driving through DC, and I saw the VW Microbus at that dive car dealership and I'm like "Ooo! Let's stop and check out the VW!"... so we pull over and look at it, then we're talking to the neighbor guy who is out in his garage with his buddies and they are drinking something clear from a Mason jar... and it is honest-to-dog moonshine from Arkansas... Brian takes a swig of it and says "Holy shittake!"... strong stuff. ;)
